ITINERARY
DAY 1 - Ontario Science CentreWe will arrive at the Ontario Science Centre by approximately 10:15am and students will have time to eplore the exhibits until 11:30am. Students have from 11:30-12:00 to eat their lunch in the Science Centre cafeteria. Given the day’s tight schedule, it is advised that students bring their lunch from
home.
Environmental Water Testing Program:Following lunch, student will take part in the Environmental Water Testing Program. (1.5hr)
Earth’s supply of clean water is under attack. Working in teams, students will engage with this environmental issue to investigate the quality of different water sources. Students will perform chemical, microbiological and spectrophotometric tests to determine concentrations of different contaminants. Then, they will design and build a device that collects clean and safe water.
IMAX Film:Following the Environmental Water Testing Program, students will see the IMAX film, “Hubble.”
Take an inspiring and unique look into the Hubble Space Telescope’s legacy and highlight its profound impact on the way we view the universe and ourselves.
The film will take students on a journey through distant galaxies to explore the grandeur and mysteries of our celestial surroundings.
See space-walking astronauts as they attempt the most difficult and important tasks in NASA’s history.
We will leave the Ontario Science Centre at
3:10pm. The following are estimated arrival
times at each school, however they are subject to the day’s traffic conditions.
